Implants
IF You’ve lost a tooth or perhaps it was missing from the start or if you have got an unrepairable decay on your tooth and probably you have to get it pulled out or maybe you have had and accident including a direct hit to your teeth which broke one or a few of them, then It’s time we discuss dental implants!
When it is impossible to save a tooth or there is a blank space between teeth an implant can be used instead of a bridge to ensure that surrounding teeth do not need to be prepared. However, you need to have certain qualifications to get implants which are
-being in good health and not taking certain medications
-Having healthy gums
-Have enough bone tissue to place the implants in the jaw
-Are committed to taking care of the implanted teeth with regular brushing and flossing.
Dental implants are posts mainly from titanium that are surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gums to provide stable support for artificial teeth placed on top of the implant. Some people who have not enough bone in their jaw for implants can still get implants, but first the bone in the area must be augmented with a bone graft. Dentures and bridges can also be mounted on dental implants for much more comfort and avoiding slip or shift in your mouth, which will make you feel more confident about eating and speaking. You have to keep it in mind that mostly but not always there is a few months of gap between the time you get the implants placed in the jaw bone and the time the crowns are placed. This period is the time needed for implants to get integrated with the jaw bone to be able to support the future crowns.
